Quality Inspection at Goods Receipt/-Issue Using HUs

Purpose

You can decide if you want to have a quality inspection during the goods receipt/-issue process as you create handling units for the inbound/outbound delivery (see also Quality inspection for handling units ).

Process Flow

If quality inspection is necessary, an inspection lot is created for the handling unit(s). The inspection lot number is transferred as the handling unit is put away in quants. The usage decision (repost to unrestricted-use stock, for example) creates a posting change delivery that contains the inspection lot.

A transfer order that selects the quants for the inspection lot number and makes the necessary posting changes is created in WM for this posting change delivery. The goods issue/-receipt posting for the posting change delivery completes this process. This action adjusts the stock entries in inventory management and in the stock in interim storage in WM accordingly.

You can automate this process as follows:

  1. Use output control (output WMTA) to activate direct transfer order creation for deliveries.

  2. Activate immediate confirmation for the corresponding posting-change movement type in WM.

  3. Define for this movement type in WM that the pick quantity is to be transferred with the confirmation to the delivery and that goods issue posting is to begin immediately.
