Examples of DTUC for Length-Based Materials
If you want to use the examples in this document in the system, you must meet the following prerequisites.
You must make the settings described under “Prerequisites“ in the document Delivery-Related Trading Unit Change.
Cutting
Cutting is required if the length of the assigned batch is 4000 m in the outbound delivery but the sales order calls for 4x1000 m. In this situation, the system compares the values of the
Individual length
characteristic in the sales order with those of the assigned batch. In DTUC processing, the system then generates four new batches, each with a length of 1000 m, as
receiving items
.
Spooling/Lagging/Additional Packaging
In all other characteristic changes, such as
spooling,
lagging, and
additional packaging, the system copies and updates the batches of the batch split items as
receiving items
in DTUC processing.
