You have specified that the costs for the manufacturing order are collected on a product cost collector. You make this setting in Customizing for Product Cost by Order
or Product Cost by Period
under Define Default Values for Order Types
in the order type of the manufacturing order (Production Orders in Cost Object Controlling or Process Orders in Cost Object Controlling). The following scenarios are possible:
No product cost collector has been created on which the actual costs could be collected. You want to rectify this. You therefore create a product cost collector. You link this product cost collector to the manufacturing order. Linking the manufacturing order to the product cost collector at this point is only possible if the manufacturing order does not yet have any actual costs.
A product cost collector may already exist, but because the production version or the BOM/routing combination in the manufacturing order has changed, you need to link the manufacturing order to a different product cost collector. In this case a new linkage is only possible if no costs have been caused by the product cost collector.
Linking an Existing Production Order to a Product Cost Collector
To link an existing production order to a product cost collector:
Choose
.The screen Production Order Change: Initial Screen
appears.
Enter the required data. Choose Enter
.
The screen Production Order Change: Header
appears.
Choose
.The dialog box Read PP master data
appears.
Choose Enter
.
The system links the production order to the product cost collector. The screen Production Order Change: Header
appears.
Choose Master data
.
You can access the product cost collector from the master data
view.
Linking an Existing Process Order to a Product Cost Collector
To link an existing process order to a product cost collector:
Choose
.The screen Process Orders
appears.
Choose
.The screen Change Process Order: Initial Screen
appears.
Enter the required data. Choose Enter
.
The screen Change Process Order: Header
appears.
Choose Enter
.
The screen Process Order: Read Master Data
appears.
Enter the required data. Choose Enter
.
The system links the process order to the product cost collector. The screen Change Process Order: Header
appears.
Choose Master data
.
You can access the product cost collector from the master data
view.
The manufacturing order is now linked to the (new) product cost collector. The actual costs incurred by the manufacturing order are collected on the new product cost collector. The link is established internally by means of a production process.
