You can use the archiving functions in Media Sales and Distribution to archive data that you no longer require in the system.
Archiving in Media Sales and Distribution is an application of standard archiving.
Archiving
Almost all the standard archiving functions are available in Media Sales and Distribution. The documents below contain the features of the archiving functions in IS-M/SD.
The archiving functions for archiving objects in Media Sales and Distribution are integrated in the menus. The menu contains parameter transactions of transaction SARA (Archive Administration) created for Media Sales and Distribution. This means that if you access the archiving functions via the menu, the functions of archive administration are available to you.
Postprocessing and preprocessing are not necessary for the archiving objects in Media Sales and Distribution.
Archive data can be reloaded in Media Sales and Distribution.
Caution
You should note, however, that reloading archived data to the database is a complex process and should therefore only be done in emergencies. For example, you might need to reload data because you discovered immediately after archiving that too much data or the wrong data was archived due to an error by the administrator. The data should then be reloaded directly after archiving, if possible.
