  Multiple Specifications in Inspection Planning

Use

If you want to use multiple specifications, you must store these in an inspection plan. The functions for multiple specifications have been implemented in the system through an enhancement in the function for dependent characteristic specifications. In addition to the standard objects material and customer , you can also assign other multiple specifications objects to an inspection plan when creating or processing a plan, and you can define specific inspection specifications for these objects. These specifications are displayed as supplementary information during inspection processing and can be used to make object-related valuations of the material or batch to be inspected.

Note Note

If you process an inspection plan using the transactions Create Inspection Plan or Change Inspection Plan , the dependent characteristic specifications and material-task list assignments can only be displayed. You cannot process this data using these transactions.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

When you create multiple specifications in an inspection plan, make sure you consider the following points:

  • You can only create multiple specifications in inspection plans (plan type Q).

  • You can only create multiple specifications using the Engineering Workbench (EWB) .

To be able to create multiple specifications in an inspection plan, make the following settings in Customizing for Quality Planning under Start of the navigation path Inspection Planning Next navigation step General Next navigation step Multiple Specifications End of the navigation path :

  • You define the permitted object types (for example, Country , Pharmacopoeia ) for multiple specifications.

  • You define the objects for each object type (for example, enter the objects Germany and France for the object type Country ).

In addition, you must consider the following points:

If you

Then

want to use multiple specification objects for the batch determination and certificate creation functions,

a control key must be assigned to the object type in Customizing that specifies whether the batch classification is to occur on the basis of the customer, country, or general object.

want to valuate a batch on the basis of multiple specifications while making the usage decision and transfer this valuation to the batch classification,

at least one class characteristic must be assigned to the object type in Customizing which will receive the valuation ( Suitable for or Not Suitable for ).

Procedure

  1. In Customizing, you activate the multiple specifications using the settings at client level.

  2. In Customizing, you specify the types of objects for which you want to maintain multiple specifications. In the standard system, SAP supplies the object types Country , Customer , and Pharmacopoeia .

  3. In Customizing, you define which objects should be created for the various object types (for example, for the object type Country , you define the objects Germany , France , Italy , and so on).

  4. If you intend to transfer valuations to the batch classification when making the usage decision, you must also specify the following for each object type in Customizing:

    • Which object (for example, country key, customer, or general multiple specification object) should be used for the batch classification

    • Which class characteristics from the batch class are to be linked with the object type, to allow a multiple specification-related valuation of a batch to be transferred

    Note Note

The following class characteristics are supplied in the standard system:

    • LOBM_COUNTRY_OK

    • LOBM_COUNTRY_NOK

    • LOBM_CUSTOMER_OK

    • LOBM_CUSTOMER_NOK

These are already linked to the object types Country and Customer .

In order to be able to use the class characteristics supplied with the system, you have to transfer them from the delivery client to the production client. For more information, see Classification with Standard Characteristics .

    End of the note.
  5. You create the multiple specifications in a new or existing inspection plan.
