The trip schema
PL
is used in Travel Management in two places: in the SAP system as a technical trip schema for travel requests and travel plans, and in the Web Dynpro interface to edit the field control for travel requests and travel plans.
Technical Trip Schema in SAP System
When a travel request (in the Travel Manager) and a travel plan (in the Travel Manager and Planning Manager) is saved, for technical reasons the associated travel expense report is generated automatically, into which the system integrates the general data and any advances from the travel request or travel plan. This travel expense report has the status
Request
or
Request Approved
.
To ensure a correct process flow when this travel expense report is created automatically, SAP supplies the technical trip schema
PL
. The system selects this trip schema as a kind of placeholder for the actual trip schema, which is still unknown at this point.
The technical trip schema
PL
stands for a multiday trip without domestic/international differentiation and with internal number assignment.
When users access Travel Expenses later to enter their trip data, they are asked to enter the "true" trip schema as usual (such as
Domestic Trip
). Users do not have to deal with the technical trip schema
PL
.
Trip Schema PL in the Web Dynpro Interface
In the Web Dynpro interface, the field control for the travel request is configured by means of trip schema
PL
. It also defines which additional entries are provided on the
Complete Booking Information
screen in Travel Planning, such as advances or account assignments.
If you use travel requests in the Travel Manager or use the transactions of Travel Planning, you need to copy trip schema
PL
from client 000 to your client because the settings for trip schemas are client-dependent.
Then check the default values in trip schema
PL
and change them if necessary. Enter only default values that exist in the corresponding tables in Customizing for Travel Management. You check and change the default values for trip schema
PL
in the IMG (Implementation Guide) for Travel Management under
.
