Make-to Stock Production for Configurable Materials

you can manufacture configurable materials and material variants with production orders not only with reference to sales orders but also for stock. You can also change the characteristic value assignments of a material variant in production orders.
Prerequisites
The following requirements must be fulfilled in order to manufacture configurable materials and material variants for stock.
Your DIMP system must be linked to a
SAP Advanced Planner and Optimizer (SAP APO)
system because characteristics-based planning is only possible in SAP APO.The configurable material or the material variant must be contained in an active integration model.
The material must be managed in batches so that warehouse stocks of materials with different characteristics can be distinguished.
