The e-Filing Set Up and Implementation section describes the various steps you must take to implement the e-Filing for Great Britain functionality and set up electronic communication between your systems and the Inland Revenue's (IR) secure Internet service, PAYE Online for Employers - Internet . You access this IR service via the UK Government Gateway.

This Gateway comprises a web site providing a central registration service for many of the different Government services. It also supports registration and enrolment for Inland Revenue Online Services, including PAYE Online for Employers - Internet .

The e-Filing for Great Britain component is designed for use only with the IR PAYE Online for Employers – Internet service.

The IR also offers the PAYE Online for Employers – Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) service. The e-Filing component for Great Britain does not support use of this EDI service for electronic filing.

Implementing GB e-Filing: Releases 6.00 and above

Integration

To run e-Filing for Great Britain , you must also install specified Middleware to connect your SAP system to the Government Gateway.

For all supported SAP Releases up to and including 5.00 (ERP 2004)

The communication between your SAP system and the Government Gateway is handled by the SAP Business Connector ( SAP BC ).

For e-Filing Incoming , these releases are:4.6C to 5.00 inclusive.

For e-Filing Outgoing , these releases are : 31I to 5.00 inclusive.

SAP BC must be installed in your system landscape before any part of the e-Filing functionality can be used.

SAP BC is the standard Middleware product of SAP for all supported releases up to and including 5.00.

For all supported SAP Releases 6.00 (ERP 2005) and above

You must install SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI) to handle communication between your SAP system and the Government Gateway. SAP XI must be installed in your system landscape before any part of the e-Filing GB functionality can be used in these later SAP releases.

SAP XI is the standard Middleware product of SAP for Releases 6.00 and above.
