Function documentationEMCS Cockpit

The EMCS Cockpit incorporates all the functions you need to centrally manage an EMCS sequence and to ensure end-to-end traceability of the flow of goods.

Features

The EMCS Cockpit lets you edit and monitor all EMCS sequences.

You can perform various functions in the EMCS Cockpit depending on the status of the EMCS sequence.

You can choose from the following functions:

  • Create and display report of receipt

  • Assign returns

  • Create and display correction document

  • Change place of destination

  • Manage quantity shortages and excesses

For more information, see Control Functions in EMCS Cockpit.

Note that you have to fill the Shipping Date and Inbound/Outbound Indicator fields. The Inbound/Outbound Indicator controls what EMCS sequences can be selected. The functions available in the EMCS Cockpit depend on the EMCS sequence.

Based on the EMCS sequence number (unique internal numbering system) and the reference code (unique numbering system of the customs authorities), the system creates a list of selected EMCS sequences. In this list, for an EMCS sequence you can display whether goods receipt of a goods issue has been partially or fully confirmed by the recipient (Consignor tab page).

If you make changes to an existing EMCS sequence in the EMCS Cockpit, the responsible customs authorities have to be informed. Note that some changes, such as correction documents, do not have to be reported. The system sends the corresponding administrative document (through SAP GTS) to the customs authorities again, who in turn forward the information to the other parties. In this way, the system ensures that all parties (as legally stipulated) have the same level of information.

Note Note

If error messages are raised during the EMCS sequence, you can display them under Application Log: Display Logs (transaction SLG1). You enter /BEV2/ED in the Object field and EMCS in the Subobject field.

End of the note.
