Use

Use companies to define sets of users for delegated user administration.

Prerequisites

·        This procedure assumes your are creating companies by setting properties within the User Management Engine (UME). If you want to implement companies using a Trading Partner Directory from SAP Supplier Relationship Management, see Using a Trading Partner Directory Implementation for Companies.

·        This procedure requires you to restart the SAP NetWeaver Application Server (AS) Java, so you should plan for the required downtime.

Procedure

...

       1.      Configure the required UME properties.

For more information about editing UME properties, see Editing UME Properties.

¡        You must always set the UME Property ume.tpd.companies.

§         To configure one company and guest users, set ume.tpd.companies=1.

Allows for  self-registration and approval process. All approved users belong to the same company. Guest users are users who do not belong to the company or are awaiting approval.

§         To configure companies internal, external, and guest users, set ume.tpd.companies=2 or you can configure companies with names of your choice and guest users, set ume.tpd.companies=<list_of_companies>. Separate company names with commas (,).

Allows for self-registration and approval process. All approved users belong to a company. Guest users are users who do not belong to a company or are awaiting approval. This scenario can be used to allow external users, such as suppliers, limited access.

¡        Determine if you want the company groups to appear in the UME display.

To show company groups, set the following UME properties:

§         ume.company_groups.enabled=TRUE

§         ume.company_groups.guestusercompany.enabled=TRUE

For more information about the configuration values for these UME properties, see UME Properties for Companies.

       2.      Restart the AS Java.

Result

You can now use companies to define sets of users. You can now configure delegated user administration. You can also configure the name, display name, and description of your company groups. For more information, see Configuring Groups' Name, Display Name, and Description.
