 Flexible Analyses: Basics

Flexible analyses allow you to tailor the way data is combined and consolidated to suit individual needs. Report Writer functionality enables you to create reports for a variety of applications. The Report Writer can also be used in extended general ledger and cost center accounting as a tool for creating reports.

Please note that the complete functionality of the Report Writer is not available in the flexible analyses. If you wish to make use of the full Report Writer functionality, then you need to edit reports directly with the transactions of the Report Writer.

You can also vary the layout of your reports. For example, by choosing a particular display type, you can view and compare the key figure values of different characteristic values in adjacent columns.

You can also define additional key figures which are derived from applying mathematical formulas on existing key figures.

Evaluation structures form the interface to the Report Writer. They consist of characteristics and key figures.

Every information structure in the standard system has an evaluation structure with the same name. This means that all information structures can be evaluated using flexible analyses.

You can therefore define evaluations on the basis of an evaluation structure.
