 Combining Characteristics and Key Figures

Use

The procedure for combining characteristics and key figures (hereafter referred to as fields) is practically the same. The following description therefore applies to both functions.

Procedure

When you select Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Characteristics End of the navigation path, a dialog box appears showing the list of evaluation structures on the right and a list of all the characteristics in the selected evaluation structure on the left.

Similiarly, when you select Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Key Figures End of the navigation path, a dialog box appears showing the list of evaluation structures on the right and a list of all the key figures in the selected evaluation structure on the left.

To obtain a list of all the fields in an evaluation structure, proceed as follows:

  1. Position the cursor on the evaluation structure whose fields you want to display and choose Select (or double-click with the mouse).

A list of all the fields in the specified evaluation structure appears in the left side of the window.

  2. To copy a field from this list to your evaluation information structure, position the cursor on that field and choose Copy (or double-click with the mouse).

The field is marked and copied to the list of chosen fields.

  3. To select a block of fields, position the cursor at the beginning of the block and select the function Select block. Position the cursor at the end of the block that you want to copy and select the function Select block once more. To copy the block into the list of chosen fields, select Copy.

  4. To access the list of the selected fields, select Close. The system displays a dialog box containing a list of the fields you have chosen.

With the pushbutton Switch display, you can display the technical names of the key figures or tables.

  5. You can now edit this list, that is, you can delete fields from the list, and add new fields from the information structure.

    Note Note

The sequence of the selected characteristics and key figures in the evaluation structure is irrelevant. During generation, these fields are sorted alphabetically according to their field names.

    End of the note.
    • Deleting fields

To delete a field from the list, position the cursor on this field and select the function Delete.

    • Adding new fields from the evaluation structure

The function Selection list gives you the list of evaluation structures and a list of fields for the evaluation structure. To copy new fields, carry out steps 1 to 3 described above.

  6. Press ENTER to return to the definition screen.

On the left side of the screen, you can see the list of chosen characteristics, and on the right the list of chosen key figures.
