Procedure documentation Changing You Password with Basic Authentication Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Instead of using SSO2 for your logon procedure, you can also log on using Basic Authentication. When using Basic Authentication, if you want to (or have to) change your password, the necessary procedure for doing this is described below.

Note

Since there is no switch to HTTPS, sending the password is potentially unsafe.

Prerequisites

·        You have deactivated the cookies option in your browser.

·        You have deactivated SSO2 (PSE management is not activated).

Procedure

...

       1.      In the Object Navigator, navigate to your application and choose F8 (Test/Execute).

This takes you to the usual logon screen with the note that logon is only possible using Basic Authentication.

       2.      Choose the Change Password button.

Note that you may change your password once a day only.

       3.      A popup is displayed in which you can enter your user name and password.

       4.      Choose the Change Password button.

       5.      On the next screen, enter your current (old) password, your new password and confirm your new password by entering it again.

       6.      Confirm your entries by choosing the Change button.

You will receive a confirmation that you have successfully changed your password.

       7.      An additional popup is displayed in which you can enter your new password again.

Result

You have successfully changed your password.
