Prerequisites
The customer development has been made in an R/3 Enterprise system and is contained in one structure package.
APO has the same Basis release as the R/3 Enterprise System.
Process Flow
You create a structure package, which you then use to bundle all your own customer developments.
You create main packages within the new structure package.
The main packages are used to provide more structure within the customer’s structure package. They correspond to discrete technical areas.
You define the use relationships for the new structure package.
Bearing in mind that your own structure package is dependent only on the two Enterprise components BASIS and ABA, you should define the use relationship of the new structure package accordingly:
- Define the use relationship at the structure package level.
This requires you to create use accesses for the new structure package from BASIS and ABA to the virtual package interface. In addition, you need to create the use accesses to each filter package interface from BASIS and ABA.
- Create use accesses for all inner packages of the customer structure package to the virtual package interface from BASIS and ABA.
You switch on the package check using the global package check switch.
To continue modularizing your customer developments, you make the package check stricter, step-by-step.
In particular, you could set the Package Check as Client and Package Check as Server flags for the new structure package.
You import a copy of your customer development into the APO system, to make it available there.
