General Changes in the Business Package

      Business Package Structure

The Business Package for Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP) 1.0 has a new structure. It is no longer divided into the areas of My Budget and My Staff. The business package has been restructured as follows:

       Overview

       Work Overview

       Team

       Budget

       Projects

       Planning

       Reports

       Service Map

For more information, see Business Package Structure.

Conversion to Web Dynpro Technology for Java

In this business package, almost all iViews that existed in the Business Package for Manager Self-Service 60.1 and used the HTML Business (HTMLB) for Java technology have been converted to the Web Dynpro for Java technology.

The following iViews are the exception:

The following Appraisal iViews no longer exist:

       Appraisals

       Edit Appraisals

       Appraisal Overview

       Appraisal Inbox

       Status Overview

In the business package, these iViews have been replaced with the new Appraisals iView for the application component Objective Setting and Appraisals (PA-PD-PM).

The business package now only includes iViews for the application component Enterprise Compensation Management (PA-EC). Therefore, the following iViews for the application component Compensation Management (PA-CM) no longer exist:

       Compensation Adjustments

       Awards

       Compensation Planning

       Compensation Approval

       Compensation Guidelines

       Compensation Eligibility

The iViews of the earlier workset ESS in MSS are no longer standalone iViews in the Business Package for Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP) 1.0. Instead, they are accessed from the Related ActivitiesiView using a hyperlink.

The following iViews have been replaced by workflow-based approval scenarios in the universal worklist:

       Travel Approval

       Travel Approval: Details

The Emergency Contact iView does not exist for the Web Dynpro for Java technology.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

The iViews based on HTMLB for Java technology are compatible with later releases. Meaning that you can also use iViews from the Business Package for Manager Self-Service 60.1 in the Business Package for Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP) 1.0.

      iView Properties

You can set the properties of iViews that are based on the Web Dynpro for Java technology. This includes properties that the administrator can set up and properties that end users can use to personalize the iViews.

Consequently, in the Business Package for Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP) 1.0, the technical names of iViews have been changed from those used in the Business Package for Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP 2004) 60.1. For iViews that existed in the Business Package for Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP 2004) 60.1, the corresponding Web Dynpro application has not changed in most cases, and therefore the functions remain the same.

For more information about the iViews whose functions have changed, see the "Specific Changes in iViews" section.

For more information about configuring iViews, see Structure linkBusiness Package for Self-Service Administrator.

      Roadmap

In iViews that include a roadmap, you can choose the previous and next step by selecting the appropriate hyperlink.

      Object and Data Provider (OADP)

The functions of the Object and Data Provider have been enhanced.

For the columns Organizational Unit, Position, and Job, the standard ERP system no longer reads the data from the Organizational Assignment infotype (0001), but determines the data along the organizational structure. However, if you still want to use data from the Organizational Assignment infotype, in Customizing you can define that the previous columns are to be used instead.

If an employee holds more than one position, the Multiple Assignment column is shown.

The structure of Customizing for OADP has been changed.

The Customizing settings for OADP are now stored in the iView properties.

For more information, see the “Effects on Customizing” section.

Effects on Customizing

      iView Properties

If for the iViews in the Business Package for Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP 2004) 60.1, you have made settings (such as for the cache lifespan) in Customizing for the Self-Services Homepage, you must make these settings again in the iView properties.

Note

Customizing for the Self-Services Homepage still includes settings for MSS. These settings include those for the Related Activities iView, or for those iViews that you access using a hyperlink from another iView (for example the Organizational Assignments iView that you can access from the General Information iView). In the standard system, Customizing for the Self-Services Homepage includes a service key for such iViews.

      Object and Data Provider (OADP)

The changes made to the Object and Data Provider have resulted in a new structure for Customizing for OADP. If in previous releases you have already made Customizing settings for the Object and Data Provider, you must first convert these entries to the new table structure before you can continue using them.

For more information, see the Release Note Object and Data Provider (Changed) in the ERP system.

The OADP parameters (for example, which organizational structure view group or organizational structure view an iView uses) are now stored in the iView properties as opposed to in Customizing for the Self-Services Homepage. In the standard system, the properties of all iViews that are based on the Object and Data Provider include suitable OADP parameters.

If for the iViews in the Business Package for Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP 2004) 60.1, you have made settings for the OADP parameters, in Customizing for the Homepage for Self-Services, you must make these settings again in the iView properties.

      Launchpad

To display Manager’s Desktop (MDT) reports in the launchpad, you must create an MDT scenario in Customizing and run the conversion report PWPC_CONV_MDT_TO_LPA. The report is in Customizing for Manager’s Desktop, under Customer Adjustment ® Convert MDT Data to MSS Reporting Launchpad.
