Use

You can add services to the areas in the standard system. These can be customer-specific services or services that are assigned to other areas in the standard system.

Procedure

You can define different application types as customer-specific services:

     Web Dynpro applications

BSP applications

ITS services

     Pages in the portal

     URLs

Define Server (If Required)

If required, store a server in the IMG activity, Cross-Application Components ® Homepage Framework ® Resources ® Define Server for Resources. For more information, see the documentation on the IMG activity.

Define Service

...

       1.      Call the following IMG activity: Cross-Application Components ® Homepage Framework Services ® Define Services.

       2.      Choose Define Services (Add Entries).

       3.      Enter a service key and a description of the service.

Note

The service keys for the individual ESS applications are release-dependent, so that your customer-specific Customizing settings are not overwritten when you upgrade to a higher release. For this reason, the service key table always contains multiple entries for each service – one entry for each available release.

Example: Skills Profile service

      ERP2004: EMPLOYEE_CAREER_SKILLSPROFILE

      ERP2005: EMPLOYEE_CAREER_SKILLSPROFILE05

       4.      Choose Details.

       5.      Enter the resource you defined previously.

       7.      Save your entries.
