You can add services to the areas in the standard system. These can be customer-specific services or services that are assigned to other areas in the standard system.
You can define different application types as customer-specific services:
● Web Dynpro applications
● Pages in the portal
● URLs
If required, store a server in the IMG activity, Cross-Application Components ® Homepage Framework ® Resources ® Define Server for Resources. For more information, see the documentation on the IMG activity.

The service keys for the individual ESS applications are release-dependent, so that your customer-specific Customizing settings are not overwritten when you upgrade to a higher release. For this reason, the service key table always contains multiple entries for each service – one entry for each available release.

3. Enter the required subarea from the standard system and the service key you have just defined.
4. Assign the required position in the subarea to the service.
5. Save your entries.
The system displays a hyperlink on the service page of the subarea, which you can use to start the service.
