Function documentation OCR Printing with SWIN Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

The SWIN device type uses Microsoft Windows formatting and Microsoft Windows fonts for printing. To print OCR characters with SWIN, you therefore need to install an OCR-A font in Microsoft Windows.

The SAP System provides an internal OCR font definition. To have this font printed out in the Microsoft Windows font, you will need to set up a font substitution in the SAPlpd program. This substitution converts the SAP OCR font to the name of the Microsoft Windows OCR font.

With device types other than OCR, you will probably need a font cartridge of soft fonts to print OCR characters.

For more information about OCR printing with SWIN, see SAP Notes 48803 and 96310 in the SAP Service Marketplace.
