Customizing in a Productive System
Use
Customizing settings must not be changed during productive operation, so the productive system is locked for customizing. There are, however, certain cases in which customizing settings must nevertheless be made in the productive system (e.g. enter currency exchange rates). SAP provides ongoing settings, with which the customer can make customizing settings from the productive system, for this case.
Prerequisites
The Ongoing settings flag is set in the transaction SOBJ for the customizing object used in the maintenance object. This flag is in the object header data.
Features
When a maintenance object is created in SIMGH, a parameter transaction, which is usually not displayed, is generated when it is saved. When you enter a customizing object which is flagged as ongoing settings in SOBJ, as maintenance object in the transaction SIMGH, the parameter transaction is displayed in the IMG activity header data. To be able to make customizing settings from the productive system, you must put this parameter transaction in the appropriate area menu with the transaction SE43.
Activities
(The name of the area menu is under System ® Status in the Program field in each application.)
