Use

The long area description is displayed on the area page and it contains a longer and more descriptive text for this area. You can publish additional and up-to-date information in the long area description.

You can create a long description for an area in two ways:

¡        You enter the text in the Implementation Guide (IMG) underCross-Application Components ® Homepage Framework ® Areas ® Define Areas in the Area Description (Long Text) and Area Description (Header) fields.

This method is the more straightforward of the two but has the disadvantage that it is only suitable for shorter texts. The reason for this is that the method does not allow you to format the text in any way (bold, italics, font size). Line breaks are also not possible.

       1.      You create the text in a separate HTML file and incorporate it in the area page.

This method is more time consuming but has the advantage that it is also suitable for longer texts. You can format the HTML file as you wish. The length of the text is not restricted technically. The system displays the file in an embedded frame (iFrame).

Recommendation

You are recommended to use the second method.
