Function documentationPrinting MICR Characters Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

MICR (magnetic ink character recognition) is a method, using primarily in banking, for identifying checks, for example using the account number and bank number. MICR characters are printed with a magnetized ink that can be identified by special read devices.

Fonts

You can use the following fonts to print MICR characters in SAPscript forms:

·        MICR_C for MICR CMC-7 font

·        MICR_E for MICR E-13B font

Specify the desired font in the application form that you are using with a font size of 10 points.

Prerequisites

To be able to print MICR fonts, you must equip your printer with additional hard ware and firmware (MICR SIMM module and magnetic toner and toner sensor). For more information, contact printer vendors and vendors of MICR equipment.
