Use

With the help of this function you can post items, change item data, force postings, transfer post items, delete, or reject items.

Prerequisites

Items can be in postprocessing because:

·        They were only parked during manual entry.

·        The checks for externally initiated ordering party items failed.

·        The checks for recipient items and turnover items failed. Depending on the Customizing of the corresponding transaction type, this could mean, for example:

¡        The internal credit/planning limit of the account was exceeded

¡        The specified value date is beyond the tolerance range

¡        There are locks on the account for the transaction type

¡        The relevant transaction type has not been maintained for a direct debit order or the collection authority for a debit collection is missing

¡        A check cannot be cashed (only applies for banks)

¡        There is a lock on the business partner

In addition to your normal authorization, you also have the F_PAYM_ACT authorization for the activities Transfer Post and Force Posting.

Procedure

All items with the status In Postprocessing can be edited as follows:

...

       1.      Choose Account Management ® Payment Item ® Postprocess.

You can either select the required item by means of the bank area, account number, business partner number of the account maintenance officer, and posting date or by means of the item type (ordering party, recipient, routing, and turnover item) and the posting process from which this has resulted (for example, online entry payment order or transfer posting). For more detailed selection options, choose Dynamic Selections.

       2.      The system displays an overview of the items that meet your selection criteria. Note the following:

¡        For payment items with several positions, the individual positions along with position number are listed under one another.

¡        The traffic-light shows the status of the editing in this selection run. On this subject, read the corresponding explanation on the editing of payment orders.(Structure linkEditing Payment Orders)

Double clicking a item or a position brings you to the detailed display of the payment item. You now have the following options:

·        Post the item

If the reason that caused the postprocessing no longer applies (for example, check is now covered or limit extension), the item can be posted.

·        Change item data

Depending on the type of item, certain details can be changed (for example, the check number) to enable correct posting.

·        Force the posting

When you post a payment item, the system performs various checks. Some of these checks depend on the business transaction and the transaction types used. If any of the checks fails, the transaction is not posted. The system displays an error message to explain the reason for the check failure. You can choose the Force Posting button to enter the posting despite the errors. The system excludes all relevant checks.

Additionally, you have the option of switching in display mode from the error message to the ordering party account to review and analyze the message (for example, Locked or Limit Exceeded).

·        Transfer post

Payment items can be transfer posted to another account.

¡        If the payment item has not yet been posted, you can achieve this by changing the account number.

¡        If the item has already been posted, the system creates the respective reversal and new posting.

You can also transfer post payment items to accounts that belong to a different bank area. Prerequisite for such a transfer posting is that the payment item has the Posted or Posted (Open Item) status.

·        Delete/reject

Items for which cash has not yet flowed (internal postings) can be deleted.

Externally initiated ordering party items can be rejected or deleted. The ordering party item is deleted and, if there is a reference number from the external payment transaction system, the deletion is registered with the external payment transaction system.

·        Enhance direct debit order

If a payment item is in postprocessing because the transaction type of the payment item includes the "Check for direct debit order", and there is no direct debit order for the payment recipient defined in the payment item, you can add another item to an existing direct debit order for an account.

Choose Edit ® Assign Name ® Direct Debit Order. The system displays all existing direct debit orders for this account. Select the relevant direct debit order.

A new item is added to the direct debit order for the payment recipient. The proposed values for Amount and Currency are taken from the first item in the direct debit order.

Note

If you are looking at the detail data of the payment item, choose Goto ® Account or Goto ® Payment Order to display the account or payment order belonging to this item.

Note

The payment item is parked with the corresponding control status if you have activated the (amount-dependent) principle of dual control for the processing of payment items in Customizing for BCA. Set up dual control for payment item processing by choosing Authorization Management ® Amount-Dependent Authorizations ® Maintain Amount Limit/Principle of Dual Control for Payment Item. Dual control applies to the following activities related to a payment item:

§         Create and change

§         Post, transfer post, and force post

§         Reverse and return

Another user with appropriate authorization must then release the payment item. To release the payment item, choose Account Management ® Payment Item ® Release. The system lists all the items that have not yet been released.
