Configuring the Central Performance History (CPH) is performed primarily in two steps:
· Create your own collection and reorganization schemata or use the standard SAP schemata (see Delivered Collection and Reorganization Schemata).
· Assign the schemata to the MTE classes that you want to collect in the CPH. You can perform the assignment on the Assign Collection and Reorganization Schemata screen.
However, you can also perform the assignment directly from the Alert Monitor. You can use all of the functions of the CPH when you do this, and in many cases, it is easier to do so, as you can select the nodes for which you want to assign a schema to the MTE classes in the Alert Monitor.
1. Choose CCMS ® Control/Monitoring ® Alert Monitor, or call transaction RZ20.
2. Expand the monitor set that contains the monitor that you require, and choose Load Monitor, or double click the desired monitor.
3. Activate maintenance functions by choosing Extras ® Activate Maintenance Functions.
If you want to collect MTE classes in the CPH, follow the procedure below:
4. Select the nodes for which you want to assign a collection and reorganization schema to the MTE classes.
5. Choose Collect MTE Class in Central Performance History (). A screen displaying all collection and reorganization schemata appears. Choose the desired schema by double clicking it.
If you want to display the properties of a schema, select the schema and choose Display Details ().
6. If one or more schemata are already assigned to the selected MTE classes, you can decide whether to overwrite assignments, and which assignments to overwrite.
7. To check the assignments, activate the relevant technical view in the Alert Monitor (see Display Technical View: Central Performance History).
If you require the overview screen during the assignment due to its additional features, follow the procedure below:
8. Select the nodes for which you want to assign a collection and reorganization schema to the MTE classes.
9. Choose Extras ® Central Perf. History ® Edit Schema Assignments. The Assign Collection and Reorganization Schema screen appears (see: Assigning Collection and Reorganization Schemata to Performance Values). The selected MTE classes of the relevant systems are already selected. However, you can also, for example, select additional systems and MTE classes to which you want to assign a schema.
10. Select the desired schema and choose Assign Schema ().
11. If one or more schemata are already assigned to the selected MTE classes, you can decide whether to overwrite assignments, and which assignments to overwrite.
If you no longer want to collect MTE classes in the CPH, follow the procedure below:
12. Select the nodes for which you no longer want to assign a collection and reorganization schema to the MTE classes.
13. Choose Do Not Collect MTE Class in Central Performance History (). Confirm your selection.
Note that with this command, you not only stop the collection of the MTE class, but also delete the entries for this MTE class in the CPH.
