Processing Classic InfoSets and Assigning
Roles
Before you are able to work with the classic InfoSet query, classic InfoSets must already be available that are assigned to particular roles.
There are various ways of getting to the classic InfoSet maintenance screen:
· Call transaction RSQ02 InfoSet: Initial Screen.
· Call from the context menu of DataStore objects or InfoObjects in the Modeling view of the Data Warehousing Workbench
The following deals primarily with BI-specific enhancements. You can find extensive information about the available functions of SAP Application Server InfoSets in the SAP documentation on SAP Query. This information also covers BI classic InfoSets.
...
1. In the Data Warehousing Workbench – Modeling, choose the Classic InfoSets function from the context menu of the object that requires a classic InfoSet. In the right-hand side of the screen, the classic InfoSets are displayed that use this particular object. In the classic InfoSet overview, you can access the most important functions (Change, Display, Delete, and so on) from the transaction (RSQ02) in the Classic InfoSet menu. To see if any queries already exist for a classic InfoSet, choose the Query Directory function. This lists all the queries that have already been created for a classic InfoSet. The Classic InfoSet Maintenance option takes you to the initial screen of Classic InfoSet Maintenance. All the existing classic InfoSets are listed here.
2. Choose one of the following functions to create a new classic InfoSet for a particular object:
¡ Recreate Standard Classic InfoSets.
A classic InfoSet that contains all attributes is created for InfoObjects.
For DataStore objects, the system generates a classic InfoSet from the table of active data and a “new and active data combined” classic InfoSet. If there is a more up-to-date record in the table of new data, this record is used in reporting instead of the active record. You can modify the standard Classic InfoSet. Note that only the generated version can be used for the InfoSet query.
¡ If you want to use joins, you have to define the classic InfoSet manually. Specify a name in the Technical Name field and choose Create New Classic InfoSet.
The Classic InfoSet Maintenance screen appears The Classic InfoSet: Title and Data Source screen appears. The system has already identified the appropriate basic master data table or DataStore object table as the data source.

If you want to use a classic InfoSet for queries in a Web environment, you have to assign the InfoSet to a user group. Do this in the Classic InfoSet: Title and Data Source screen. To call this screen in the future, choose the Global Properties function from the Goto menu in the Classic InfoSet Maintenance screen.
After you confirm you entries, Join Definition is displayed. Determine the join conditions.
In the main screen of the Classic InfoSet Maintenance, you can:
§ Choose all the attributes you require
§ Arrange these attributes into field groups
§ Determine the fields that are going to contain extra information (characteristics and key figures, for example) that was not contained originally in the InfoObjects or DataStore objects.
3. Save your entries.

The Settings function in the Classic InfoSet Maintenance screen allows you to switch to using DDIC names. You use this option, for example, when you are writing coding, defining upper and lower limits for a classic InfoSet, or connecting additional tables, and you have to give the DDIC names rather than the technical names used in the BI system.
Once you have saved and generated the classic InfoSet, you assign it to one or more roles. Choose the Role Assignment function in the classic InfoSet overview. All the roles that have been set up for working with the InfoSet query are displayed in a dialog box.
The roles that the classic InfoSet is already assigned to are highlighted in the first column. Use the corresponding field to:
· Assign the classic InfoSet to another one of the roles
· Delete an existing assignment. Before you do this, make sure that there are no queries left for the classic InfoSet within this particular role.
You can now use the classic InfoSet in the Query Builder, within the context of the role assigned to it.
