Function documentation Defining the Category Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

The category forms the basis of a subscription. If you want to define separate subscriptions for the work items of particular tasks, you must first define a corresponding category. You specify the category in the relevant selection. The selected work items are then assigned to this category. You can then define the required subscriptions for the category. This enables you, for example, to define that the notifications for particular work items are sent by SMS while the others are sent by e-mail. SAP ships a default category.

If later you want to use the same subscriptions for work items of other tasks, you do not need to modify each individual subscription. You only need to extend the selection or define a new selection, which assigns the additional work items to the category (see also: Selecting Further Work Items and Using Existing Subscriptions).

Features

Priority

You can define the priority for a particular message. You have a choice of three priorities, which are provided by SAPoffice: High, Medium, and Low. The effects of the different priorities and the way they are represented depend on the Groupware that you are using. If you choose priority 1 (High) then the indicator deliver_asap is set for the message. This setting means that the message is sent immediately, without the send job needing to be triggered by SAPoffice.
