Function documentation Goto Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

With the Goto function you can jump to targets using the report-report interface, if customized in your query. Goto appears on the context menu in analysis mode for cells of the analysis grid.

Features

The report-report interface (RRI) lets you call programs from other programs using parameters. You can use it to jump from one report to another report that delivers more information. In the BI system, you can reach targets within and outside of the BI system. You can jump to the ERP system to which you are connected, or to another SAP system (as of Service API Release 6.10).

Depending on the report types you have selected for a query in the sender/receiver assignment, you can leave the query and:

·        Start another query where the entry variants are filled by the selection conditions and element definitions of the selected cells of the sender query

·        Start reports, functions, and transactions inside and outside of the BI system

Note

You need to have defined the sender/receiver assignment for the system to be able to offer jump targets. For more information, see Structure linkEditing Sender-Receiver Assignments to the R/RI in BW.

Activities

...

       1.      In analysis mode, select a cell in the analysis grid and access the context menu via the mouse or keyboard:

¡        Click with your right mouse button (secondary mouse button), or,

¡        From the menu, choose BEx Analyzer ® Context Menu for Selected Cell

       2.      Choose Goto.

The jump targets that were previously assigned are displayed in the display frame. A single click will bring you to the required jump target. A new workbook is opened in the process. The selections made in the query definition are transferred into the jump target.

Note

When jumping to a jump target outside of the BI system, you need to select a source system and log on if necessary. You need to log on only once for each Microsoft Excel session, even if you open several workbooks.
