Purpose

There are four stages involved in the process of activating your Inland Revenue (IR) PAYE Online for Employers – Internet service. These stages are:

  1. Registering as an Employer
  2. Enroling for the PAYE Online for Employers-Internet service
  3. Receiving your User ID and Activation PIN from the Inland Revenue
  4. Activating your PAYE Online for Employers - Internet service

You must complete each stage as described below in Process Flow.

Process Flow

  1. Logon to the Inland Revenue Internet home page (http://www.inlandrevenue.gov.uk), and select the login link.

You are then directed to the Inland Revenue Online Service login web page.

  1. In the New User section of the login screen, select Register.
  2. In the Organisation section of the registration screen, choose PAYE Online for Employers and select Register.
  3. On the Register and create password screen, enter:

·         Your own name

·         Your organisation name

·         A contact e-mail address

·         A password of your own choosing

  1. Select Continue to enrol for PAYE Online for Employers – Internet.
  2. To enrol, enter both your Employer’s PAYE Reference (for example 123/A246) and your Accounts Office Reference (for example 123PX12345).

You must make all your entries in UPPERCASE.

Note

Following registration and enrolment, your User ID will be displayed on screen. It will also be confirmed by post within seven days, to the contact name and address the Inland Revenue holds for you. You will also receive an Activation PIN through the post within seven days.

  1. Use this PIN to activate the service within 28 days of the date shown on the confirmation letter from the IR.

To activate the service, login using your User ID and password, enter your Activation PIN and select Activate.

Caution

If you do not activate the service within this period, your activation pin becomes invalid and you will need to enrol again for this service.

For security reasons, the enrolment process uses traditional post to deliver information that you will need to use PAYE Online for Employers - Internet.

You will receive a separate Activation PIN for any other Inland Revenue Online Service that you register and enrol for.

Note

You will need your User ID and password whenever you want to:

·         Send in forms or returns to the Inland Revenue

·         Enrol for other services

·         Activate another Internet service

·         Add users and assistants within your organisation, allowing them to file forms and returns on your behalf

·         Authorise agents to send your forms and returns to the Inland Revenue

InfoCube documentation

If you do not wish to receive forms P6, P9, P6B, SL1 and SL2 online, uncheck the necessary boxes in your user profile after you log on to the Inland Revenue mailbox.

All other forms that may be listed, such as tax credits and various notifications, are currently not supported by SAP and therefore you must uncheck them in your user profile.

Result

You have now activated the PAYE Online for Employers - Internet service for your organisation.
