Function documentation Releasing SA Releases Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

This function enables you to release (clear for issue) stopped scheduling agreement releases. A message is not generated until you have released the SA release (i.e. cleared it for printing or transmission).

If you use Internet SA releases, the vendor cannot be informed by e-mail of newly created but stopped SA releases until they have been cleared in this way.

Note

The release of stopped SA releases cannot be carried out either in the background or automatically.

Once you have released (cleared) the stopped SA releases, you must output the resulting messages that are generated in the usual way.

You can output SA releases as printouts ( SAPscript, SAP Smart Forms) or as EDI messages, for example.

For more information, refer to the sections Messages for Scheduling Agreement Releases and Automotive: SA Release Output Enhancements.

Integration

A workflow has been set up for stopped SA releases. The materials planner receives a work item if stopped SA releases (i.e. SA releases he or she is required to clear for printing or transmission) exist.

For more information, refer to the section Automotive: Workflows for the Materials Planner.

Prerequisites

You can only use this functionality if you:

Features

You can list and release (clear) stopped SA releases (FRC or JIT delivery schedules). A message record is not generated until you release stopped SA releases. This message record is then (must then be) outputted as usual.

Note

As an aid to decision-making, for example, you can access the PO history and the stock/requirements list via the Environment menu.

You can also display individual scheduling agreement releases in the list of stopped SA releases.

In the list of stopped SA releases, you can:

Displaying Reasons for Stopping SA Releases

The list of stopped SA releases shows you the reasons for which individual SA releases were stopped. (It may be necessary to adjust the display variant.)

Static stopping of the scheduling agreement item

Displaying the Status of Scheduling Agreement Releases

SA releases can have the following statuses in the list of stopped releases:

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text  The SA release has been stopped.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text The SA release has been released (cleared for printing or transmission) and messages have been generated, or an Internet release has been released but no e-mail has been sent to the vendor.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text The SA release has been released and messages were outputted immediately.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text When this Internet SA release was released, an information mail to the vendor was generated or sent.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text The scheduling agreement item is blocked by another user. It could not be processed further.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying textErrors occurred while the SA release was being released (cleared for printing or transmission). If this is a problem involving the message determination process, you can invoke the message determination analysis function directly from within the list of stopped SA releases.

Branching to the Stock/Requirements List

You can branch to the stock/requirements list from the list of stopped SA releases. There the stopped SA release is displayed instead of the last-transmitted operative (delivery-relevant) SA release.

Select a scheduling agreement item and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Stock/Requirements List to view the current stock/requirements list for the relevant material.

Select one or more scheduling agreement items and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text (Collective) Stock/Requirements List to view this list taking the stopped SA releases into account.

In the stock/requirements list, stopped SA releases are identified as such in the column MRP Element Data (e.g. Stop: 0000000002/5500000012/010 (STOP: SA release no./scheduling agreement/item)).

In the detail view of the MRP element, you can click This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Switch Release Type to view the requirement situation taking the last stopped JIT delivery schedule into account instead of the last stopped forecast delivery schedule for example. You will also see the relevant stop reasons there.

Note

A prerequisite for this function is that you are using a selection rule (e.g. SAP SA releases instead of schedule lines) that provides for the replacement of scheduling agreement delivery schedule lines by scheduling agreement release delivery schedule lines (indicator FAB/LAB instead of SA delivery schedule lines in Customizing for Material Requirements Planning under Evaluation ® Filter ® Define Selection Rules), and that you use this selection rule in the stock/requirements list.

Activities

You invoke the function for releasing stopped SA releases via Purchasing ® Outline Agreement ® Scheduling Agreement ® Delivery Schedule ® Release Stopped SA Releases.

If you use Internet SA releases, you can specify on the initial screen that the vendor is to be informed by e-mail of any newly released (i.e. newly created) Internet SA releases.

This e-mail is only sent if notification via e-mail has also been defined in the release creation profile (Mail to Vendor indicator on the Internet tab page).

Note

If Internet SA releases are not stopped by the release creation program, the vendor is notified directly in the event that notification via e-mail has been defined in the release creation profile.

Select the desired stopped SA releases and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Release to give the go-ahead to output them.
