Testing a Web Service 

Use

Using the Test option in the Web Service Homepage, you can test your Web service by sending a client request.

Prerequisites

You have entered the address of the application server on which the J2EE Engine is running in transaction WSADMIN under Goto  ® Administration Settings.

If you cannot call the Web service homepage, check that the application com.sap.engine.services.webservices.tool (provider sap.com) has been launched on the J2EE Engine.

Procedure

To test the Web service, proceed as follows:

       1.      Open the transaction WSADMIN.

       2.      Select the Web service definition you have created under SOAP Application for RFC-Compliant FMs and choose Web Service Homepage.

       3.      In the following dialog box, choose Document Style.

       4.      Enter the user and password if the Web service requires authentication.

On the Overview page, the features of the Web service will be displayed.

       5.      Call the Test page. Choose a method for the function module.

       6.      Fill in values for the method parameters underneath the heading Request. Choose Send.

Result

The required values are displayed under the Response heading. The Web service has not been tested successfully.
