Function documentation Number Range Check Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

From the central checking system in your system landscape, you use the rules defined in the global number range definition to check whether the number ranges in the different systems overlap.

Prerequisites

In the systems to be checked, you have used the standard applications for number range management to define the required number ranges for the relevant objects.

You have defined the global number range.

You have made this number range data available to the systems concerned in the central checking system. See also Determination of Number Range Data.

Features

You check the number ranges in the Central Number Range Check application (transaction /ISDFPS/GNR_CHECK). The check is based on the number range data determined in table /ISDFPS/NRIV.

You can restrict the check using the following selection fields:

·        Selection of Number Ranges for Validation

¡        Logical Systems

Specify the required systems.

¡        NR Object Name

Specify the required number range objects.

¡        Also Valid. External Intervals

Specify whether you also want to include external intervals.

·        Validation Results for Display

Specify which results you want to display.

In addition to the fields from the global number range definition, the results log contains the following fields for each combination of logical system, number range object, subobject, and number:

·        To Year

Specifies the fiscal year up to which a number range interval is valid.

·        External NR Interval

Specifies whether the interval is an external interval.

·        Current Values

Indicates the check result for the current interval limits in the relevant system.

·        Lower Interval Limit/Upper Interval Limit

The current limits of the number range interval.

·        Reserved Values

Specifies, analogous to the current values, the check result for any reserved interval limits.

For information about defining reserved interval limits, see Reservation of Number Range Intervals.

·        Lower Reserved Interval Limit/Upper Reserved Interval Limit

The limits reserved for the number range interval.

·        Processing Flag

Indicates which change operation the system carries out if you redefine number ranges.

¡        Value I (insert)

¡        Value D (delete)

¡        Value U (update)

·        Result

A detailed description of the relevant check results.

Activities

To check current number range data, complete the following steps:

...

       1.      Choose the Central Number Range Check application (transaction /ISDFPS/GNR_CHECK).

       2.      Enter the selection values.

       3.      Choose Check NR Consistency.

The system displays the check results.

You can now make any necessary corrections to the number ranges by reserving number range intervals and defining the number range intervals again directly in the relevant systems.
