Object documentation Concurrently Employed Person (External Person ID) Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Definition

Person who has more than one Structure linkpersonnel assignment with one enterprise or several affiliated enterprises. A concurrently employed person is represented in the system by assigning several personnel assignments to a central person (object CP). The central person is determined automatically by the system by internal number assignment. In addition, a unique external person ID is determined. The external person ID does not change with time (time constraint A).

Use

You can use the external person ID on the initial screens for Personnel Administration such as Personnel Actions (PA40) and Maintain HR Master Data (PA30) instead of the current personnel assignment (personnel number). You select this using the list box for personnel assignments. You can also use the external person ID as a selection field in reports of the logical database for Concurrent Employment (PNPCE) (see also Reporting for Concurrent Employment).

Note

You can deactivate the external person ID in the initial screen by setting the HR_CCURE_ PIDSL parameter to “-“ (minus) in your user profile.

Structure

When a new employee is hired, the system automatically creates the external person ID and stores it in the Person ID infotype (0709). If another personnel assignment is created, the person ID is transferred by the copy mechanism for infotypes.

You can store the generation rule for creating the external person ID in Customizing. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) under Personnel Administration ® Customizing Procedures ® Settings for Concurrent Employment ® Personnel Administration (Concurrent Employment) ® Activation of External Person ID.

Note

When you want to activate the external person ID in your system the first time, generate the Person ID infotype (0709) for all your employees using the HR_CE_GENERATE_PERSONID_EXT report.
