Express Planning
Express Planning enables planning in a Web application in the SAP NetWeaver Portal. This means that occasional users can usefully contribute to the planning process. Express Planning supports the review and approval process (that may itself contain several revision phases), and the collaboration of all users participating in a planning round. This simplifies planning, especially if there is a large number of decentral users involved.
The various planning activities, for example for primary cost planning and planning of statistical key figures, are grouped together in a planning scenario. Express Planning does not represent a new SAP planning technology, but rather integrates existing SAP planning technologies such as BI Integrated Planning and Business Planning and Simulation (BPS) from SAP NetWeaver and the cost center planning of Cost Center Accounting (CO-OM-CCA) with other planning relevant services and information (such as master data check, forms, reports and similar).
● To use Express Planning you must be using the following:
○ SAP ECC 6.0 with Financials Extension (EA-FIN), Support Package 08
○ Portal of SAP NetWeaver 2004s
○ Business Package for Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP) 1.0 (MSS)
○ Business Package for Business Unit Analyst 2.0 (mySAP ERP) 1.0 (BUA)
● The Customizing settings for Express Planning can be found in the Implementation Guide (IMG) under Cross-Application Components ® Express Planning. For application-specific planning services, additional settings in the application-specific IMG may be necessary. For more information on this, see the documentation for the relevant planning service.
Express Planning provides a framework encompassing the following components:
● Customizing for creating planning scenarios and instances
Here you can define a planning scenario for a planning round (for example, annual planning for a manager with personnel and budget responsibility) (see Configuration of a Planning Scenario).
● Planning Services, that you can integrate in the planning scenario
● iView for carrying out planning
● A delivered Example Scenario for a planning round of a manager
The framework offers a standard navigation, and status and comment concept. The status information for the planner gives him an overview of how his tasks are progressing at any time, and the ability to carry on working efficiently immediately after any interruption. Status information for the remaining users enable them to evaluate the status of the planning at any time.
The planning activities themselves can be carried out in different systems with different technologies.
