Purpose

SAP Discrete Industries and Mill Products provides industry-specific functions for the following solutions:

·        SAP for Aerospace & Defense

·        SAP for Automotive

·        SAP for Engineering, Construction & Operations

·        SAP for High Tech

·        SAP for Mill Products

Implementation Considerations

If you want to use the functions of SAP Discrete Industries and Mill Products, you must activate the business function set Discrete Industries/Mill Products.

The ERP system for which you have activated the business function set Discrete Industries/Mill Products is described below as the DIMP system.

Restrictions

It is technically possible to combine functions from the given solutions (for example, Aerospace & Defense and SAP for Mill Products). However, not all of the functions were developed with this usage in mind. Thus, we cannot guarantee that the functions will interact without errors.

You combine functions from the solutions at your own risk. We recommend the following procedure:

·         Contact the SAP employee responsible in advance to resolve any possible license issues.

·         Test the functions in the configuration you want carefully before using them productively.

We cannot guarantee that in future releases it will still be technically possible to combine functions from the different solutions.
