Process documentation Processing Partner Messages Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

With this process you can update the credit exposures in SAP Credit Management with no gaps. To categorize the credit exposure transferred, in SAP Credit Management you can use different credit exposure categories.

Prerequisites

A message is designated a partner message if you have specified a partner message ID in the sending system when posting the document. You have the following options in the different components:

     Sales and Distribution (SD)

The standard delivery contains the definition that Sales and Distribution (SD) creates a partner message during billing. In this case, the partner message ID corresponds to the number of the billing document.

You can see this definition in the BAdI for SAP Credit Management (BADI_SD_CM).

     Accounts Receivable Accounting (FI-AR)

The standard delivery contains the definition that Accounts Receivable Accounting (FI-AR) supports partner messages. All follow-on documents from the SD billing document are forwarded to SAP Credit Management as partner message.

You can access this definition in the program for transferring FI documents to SAP Credit Management (UKM_TRANSFER_ITEMS) from the SAP Easy Access screen under Accounting ® Financial Supply Chain Management ®Credit Management ®Integration of Credit Management with FI-AR ® Asynchronous Credit Exposure Update.

Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable (FI-CA)

In Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable(FI-CA) the following document interfaces support the transfer of the partner message ID:

BAPIs for posting an FI-CA document

     IDoc interface BillLineItemInterface

Program for transferring documents in Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable (RFKKBIB0)

Note

For more information, see the SAP Credit Management Configuration Guide under Structure linkMaking Settings in Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable.

Process Flow

If a follow-on document, for example, a receivable, is created in another system from a document, for example, a billing document, both systems send messages to the SAP Credit Management system. Since both messages are linked as partner messages, the system simultaneously updates the credit exposures in SAP Credit Management.

Example

       1.      For a typical example of the processing of partner messages in the case of integration with Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable (FI-CA), see here.

       2.      This example also applies for forwarding billing documents from an SD system to an Accounts Receivable Accounting (FI-AR) system. Note the following differences:

The update of the credit exposure for open order values and billing document value takes place in SAP Credit Management immediately after the posting of the order and the transfer to Accounts Receivable Accounting (FI-AR).

Program UKM_TRANSFER_ITEMS later updates the credit exposure category Receivables and processes the waiting partner message.

The system uses the billing document number as partner message ID.

The figure below shows the use of billing documents and FI-AR documents as partner messages:
