Use

In the Employee Interaction Center (EIC), you can integrate various types of HR services:

·        Services for processing HR data (such as Master Data Maintenance (PA30))

·        Employee Self-Service (ESS) Web Dynpro applications (such as Change Address Data)

Features

Integration of HR Services

A transaction launcher is used to integrate HR services. For more information about this tool, see the documentation for the transaction launcher.

You make the necessary EIC settings in Customizing for the Employee Interaction Center. Each transaction is given a unique transaction ID. You can define additional parameters that are taken into consideration when the transaction is launched. In this way, the personnel number can be entered automatically when you access Master Data Maintenance (PA30).

The standard SAP system includes the business object type EMPLOYEEIC (Employee for Employee Interaction Center) and the corresponding methods for integrating HR services.

To use these services, you require the generic ITS service CCMP_RABOX, which you must activate in the Maintain Services transaction (SICF).

For more information, see Activate HTTP Services.

You can link the entries in the navigation bar with a particular transaction ID that has been defined in the transaction launcher.

Integration of Self-Service

You can use theSelf-Services Homepage to integrate self-service applications (Web Dynpro). For more information, see Structure linkSelf-Services Homepage.

The standard SAP system includes an area group page as an example that contains sample texts for the Employee Interaction Center. The area group page is called SAPDEFAULTESSINEIC_ERP2005.

You must integrate the self-service applications you require as part of a customer project.

The authorization object S_SER_ONBE exists for each individual service level and gives EIC agents the authorization to execute a particular self-service application on an employee's behalf.
