Function documentation Uploading and Downloading MIMEs Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Importing MIMEs has already explained how you can import a MIME object into an existing folder. You can now use the upload/download function either to replace an existing object with a different one that is stored on your local hard drive, or to download an object from the MIME Repository onto your local hard drive.

To do this, mark the entry of the selected MIME object either in the object list of the application in the Repository Browser or in the corresponding folder in the MIME Repository. Then use the right mouse button to display the context menu for this object entry. The upload/download function provides three different subsequent steps:

Upload and Replace

If you want to replace an existing MIME object with a different one, choose the Upload and replace function. On the subsequent screen you have the option of selecting a folder on your local hard drive and replacing the object that existed previously in the Repository with a new MIME object from this local folder.

Downloading

If you want to download a MIME object from the Repository to your local hard drive, select the Download function. On the subsequent screen you can select a folder on your hard drive, just like when you use the Upload and replace function. When you save your changes, a copy of the object is stored in the directory you selected on your hard drive.

Download with Lock

The Download with Lock function corresponds to the Download function However, in addition to the download process, the selected MIME object is assigned a lock so that it cannot be processed by other Repository users. This prevents two users from making changes to the same MIME object at the same time.

Remove Lock

The lock is removed using the context menu function Remove Lock. This is available for locked objects only. The lock can be removed only by the user who set it – that is, by the user who downloaded the object locked to his or her local hard drive.
