Object Locking 

Purpose

The Portal Content Studio allows you to create, edit, delete, export and import objects. Administrators might try to edit the same object. Distributed administration prevents multiple users from accessing the same object. If this occurs nevertheless, there is also a lock mechanism available.

Features

You can:

·        Set how long objects should be locked

·        Check which users are currently locking which objects

·        Check which objects are locked in which folders of the Portal Catalog

·        Display and unlock all locked objects of the Portal Content Directory (PCD)

·        Set up the system so that users can unlock their own lock entries

Constraints

Note that locking is not yet available for all portal editors and objects. For example, locking is not yet possible for portal desktops and for themes.
