Changing Business Partners 

Use

You can replace account maintenance officers, bank statement recipients, or business partners in user-defined roles by one or more different business partners in the same roles for selected accounts.

Prerequisites

The selected accounts must have the Active status, and the new business partners must already be created in the roles

Procedure

       1.      Choose Periodic Tasks ® Master Data Changes ® Change Business Partner.

       2.      Limit the accounts for which you want to change business partners. You can do this using bank area, account currency, account number and/or product.

       3.      To replace the business partner with the same other business partner in all selected accounts, enter the business partner role, the previous business partner and the new business partner in this role on the Simple Conversion tab page, then choose Execute.

       4.      To replace the previous business partner with different, new business partners in the selected accounts, enter only the business partner roles and the previous business partner in this role on the Extended Conversion tab page, and choose Execute.

       5.      All accounts of the previous business partner in this role are displayed in a list. To limit the accounts for the first new business partner in this role, select Set Filter and enter the filter criteria.

The list is limited in accordance with the filter criteria entered.

       6.      Select Replace Business Partner and enter the new business partner for these selected accounts.

       7.      Repeat these steps for all new business partners.

Result

You have replaced the previous business partner with one or more new business partners in all accounts.

Example

If account maintenance officer A leaves the company, or if the company is restructured, the account balance has to be distributed to one or more other account maintenance officers. You can do so with this function without having to change each account separately.
