Process documentation Customizing the Business Workflow Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

You use this process to connect personnel change requests to the Business Workflow. Using this workflow, the system forwards submitted change requests either directly, or after one or more approval steps have been performed by higher-level managers, to the HR administrator responsible.

Process Flow

Make the following Customizing settings in the ERP system:

...

       1.      Make the basic Workflow Customizing settings.

You make these settings in Customizing for SAP NetWeaver. For more information, see Structure linkWorkflow System Administration.

       2.      Set up the workflows for personnel change requests.

You make these settings in Customizing of Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP), under Personnel Change Requests.

       3.      Configure the universal worklist (see Customizing the Universal Worklist).

       4.      If necessary, configure e-mail notification.

As an alternative to, or in addition to, the universal worklist, you can use your e-mail inbox for workflow notifications. As approver, you receive an e-mail with a link to the form. To do this, enter WD_HOST as the Web Dynpro server under General Settings in the transaction SWNCONFIG for enhanced notifications.

For more information, see Structure linkConfiguring Notifications (View Cluster).

Caution

If, for workflow notifications, you want to use the e-mail inbox only and not the universal worklist, you must still make the Customizing settings in transaction SWFVISU (see step 3).

       5.      If you want to tailor the standard workflow templates to suit your requirements, copy the appropriate template and change it accordingly.

For more information, see Creating Workflow Templates Using SAP Templates.

       6.      After you have created customer-specific workflow templates, assign them to the appropriate change requests.

For more information, see Assigning Workflow Templates to Change Requests.
