Function documentation Central Performance History Reporting in the Alert Monitor Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

The functions of the Central Performance History (CPH) include creating report definitions and reports. You can also call these functions from the Monitoring Attributes - Detail Data screen in the Alert Monitor. All reporting functions are available to you, and operation is simpler (especially for creating standard reports):

·        You can select nodes whose MTE classes you require in a report directly in the Alert Monitor.

·        The report definition is predefined with standard values; in this way, for example, daily aggregates with an hourly resolution are used for the report (see Aggregation) and the selected MTE classes are displayed both individually and as a weighted average value.

·        For reports that you only require once, you can miss out the creation of a separate report definition. These are automatically created with default settings and temporarily stored.

Activities

       1.      Choose CCMS ®Control/Monitoring ® Alert Monitor, or call transaction RZ20.

       2.      Expand the monitor set that contains the monitor that you require, and choose Load Monitor, or double click the desired monitor.

       3.      Select the nodes for whose MTE classes you want to define or execute a report, and choose Display Details (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text). The Monitoring Attributes - Detail Data screen appears.

Creating a Report Definition

       4.      Select the nodes for whose MTE classes you want to generate a report, and choose Central Perf.History ® Assign Report Definition.

       5.      The Report Definition screen appears. The report definition has the following default settings:

Field

Contents

Name

If the report definition contains an MTE class, the system proposes the name of the class for the name of the report definition.

If the report definition contains multiple MTE classes, the system proposes the current time point, consisting of the date and time, for the name of the report definition.

Output Data Format

Day aggregate with an hourly resolution

Groups

Two groups are generated for every MTE class; one with the group operation weighted average value, and one with the group operation Individual Values.

       6.      If necessary, change the settings of the report definition (see Creating a Report Definition). To do this, first switch to change mode by choosing the Display « Change (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text) pushbutton.

       7.      If you also want to use the report definition in the future, save the definition.

       8.      If you want to execute a report on the basis of this definition immediately, choose Goto ® Execute Reports.

Execute Report

       9.      Select the nodes for whose MTE classes you want to execute a report, and choose Central Perf.History ® Output as Report.

   10.      The Central Performance History Report Execution screen appears. An automatically generated report definition with the same settings as described above is used as the report definition.

Note

Note that in this case, the report definition is only stored temporarily. This means that the definition is deleted during the next run of the reorganization job (see Collecting and Reorganizing Performance Values). You therefore cannot use a temporarily stored report definition to schedule a report regularly as a job. You should therefore instead choose, on the Monitoring Attributes  Detail Data screen, Central Perf.History ® Assign Report Definition  (see above) and save the definition.

   11.      Enter the desired settings for the report execution (see Scheduling and Executing a Report).
