The InfoCube consolidates data from the SAP HR System’s payroll results. It mainly deals with all wage type amounts from results table RT. The data is made available in the InfoCube for each wage type and for specific employees. The data source is extractor 0HR_PY_1. The time base is monthly. Using its end date, each payroll period is assigned to exactly one month, whereby the payroll period used is the period for which the result was calculated.

The InfoCube contains additional information on the organizational assignment for the employee grouping. It still does not use the entire range of information provided by the extractor. The InfoCube can, if necessary, be used as a template for cubes with different organizational assignment criteria.

This InfoCube contains all payroll result wage types. Wage types have different meanings in the SAP HR System, and their importance is rated differently by users.

Wage types can be selected in a report based on this InfoCube by using a filter. This is possible for user wage types and secondary wage types. For example, secondary wage type /101 (Total Gross Amount) is a meaningful amount. A corresponding query is therefore provided as an example.

SAP BW hierarchy functionality also enables you to implement a wage type hierarchy. You must then create it explicitly in the BW System. It is not provided in the source system.

Payroll data is provided on a monthly basis by the extractor used. Using update rules, the InfoCube also calculates calendar quarters and annual information (on a calendar basis in each case). An example is used to illustrate the assignment of a month. The example assumes that payroll is performed on a weekly basis. Monthly payroll runs are usually easy to assign.

In this case, data from the first six payroll results are assigned to January and summarized. Only the last result is summarized for February.

In BW, attributes are used to make a distinction between the InfoObjects Employee 0EMPLOYEE and Person 0PERSON. The personal attributes of Gender 0GENDER, Nationality 0NATION, and Language 0PERSLANGU are included in cube 0PY_C02 as navigation attributes.
