Monitor Alerts for Background Processing
Use
You can monitor the status of the background processing in your SAP system using the
CCMS Alert Monitor (transaction RZ20).Procedure
The Background Processing monitor displays both system-wide indicators for the background performance and three types of monitoring information for every SAP instance that provides background processing.
The following table provides additional information about the contents of the Alert Monitor.

Utilization |
Percentage of the available background processing capacity that is currently in use. The value is calculated using the number of Background Work Processes. Alerts are based on average values that were determined over a particular period.Example: A server with three background processes and a utilization of 90% used all three work processes 90% of the time. |

Server-specific queue length |
Number of released joby that are to be executed, but for which there are currently no background work processes. Utilization and Server-specific queue length show whether there is a serious bottleneck in the background processing capacity. The optimal situation is a high utilization and a low queue length. A high utilization and a high value for the queue length indicate that your system could not meet the background processing demand during the alert period. High utilization can quickly lead to problems with the queue length. If the monitor repeatedly shows a high utilization (> 90%), you should increase the background processing capacity. |

Aborted jobs |
Individual terminated jobs. A separate red alert is generated for each of these jobs. |

System-wide queue length |
Number of jobs that are ready to be executed and have start authorization, but for which there are no free background work processes, averaged over all background servers. The system-wide queue length provides a central monitoring statistic for background processing in your system. Even if, for example, problems occur for one background server, a low system-wide queue length indicates that this is a local problem on that server. |
