Process documentation Tutorial for the Central Performance History (Experts) Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

This tutorial is part of a three-part course that teaches you how to operate the Central Performance History (CPH) (see Tutorial for the Operation of the Central Performance History). In this third part, you learn

·        How you can use your own day schemata to avoid using certain hours during the reorganization or for reporting

·        How you can use your own calendar schemata to avoid using certain days during the reorganization or for reporting, or use them each with an assigned day schema

Tutorial Task

You want to change a report definition so that the associated reports only use the performance values from working time. The following working times are assumed:

Days

Working Time

Monday – Thursday

08:00 -18:00

Friday

08:00 -15:00

Weekends, holidays
(using the public holiday calendar for the state of Baden-Württemberg)

None

Process Flow

Creating a Day Schema

As you only want to use the performance values that are collected between 08:00 and 18:00 (and between 08:00 and 15:00 on Fridays), you must first create two day schemata that define precisely this time period:

       1.      Start the administration transaction of the CPH by calling transaction RZ23N.

       2.      The Central Performance History screen appears. In the Data Collection and Reorganization group box, choose Day Schema.

       3.      The Edit Day Schema screen appears. Enter TUTORIAL_0800_1800 in the Name of the Day Schema field and any description.

       4.      In the Profile group box, you can use an indicator for each hour to determine whether the values from this hour are used during the reorganization. Select the indicators for all hours between 08:00 and 18:00.

       5.      Save your entries.

       6.      In the same way, create a schema with the name TUTORIAL_0800_1500 and save your entries.

       7.      Leave the screen by choosing Back (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text).

Note

A day schema can apply for all days (if you specify it directly in the definition of the collection and reorganization schema or the report definition); however, you can also specify within a calendar schema that it should only apply for certain days. In this case, assign the schema TUTORIAL_0800_1800 to all days, and the TUTORIAL_0800_1500 schema only to Fridays.

Creating a Calendar Schema

To specify special rules for Friday, weekends, and public holidays in accordance with the holiday calendar of the state of Baden-Württemberg, create a corresponding calendar schema:

       1.      You are on the Central Performance History screen. In the Data Collection and Reorganization group box, choose Calendar Schema.

       2.      The Edit Calendar Schema screen appears. Enter TUTORIAL_MO_FR_NO_HOLIDAY in the Name of the Calendar Schema field and any description.

       3.      To avoid using the data for Sundays, choose the Sunday entry in the Day of Week field of the Day Definition group box. In the Operation group box, select the Discard Days Defined Above radio button.

       4.      Choose the Add (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text) pushbutton to include this rule in the definition of the calendar schema.

       5.      Repeat the procedure for Saturday.

       6.      To assign a day schema to Fridays, choose the Friday entry in the Day of Week field of the Day Definition group box. In the Operation group box, select the Keep Days Defined Above radio button, and enter TUTORIAL_0800_1500 in the Use Day Schema field. You should also include this rule in the definition of the calendar schema.

       7.      Finally, to avoid using the data for public holidays, first ensure that in the Day Definition group box, the Day of Week field contains the entry *. Select the Holiday Calendar radio button and use the input help to select the entry Germany (Baden-Württemberg). In the Operation group box, select the Discard Days Defined Above radio button.

       8.      Save your entries and leave the screen by choosing Back (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text).

Changing a Report Definition

In the Tutorial for the Central Performance History (Advanced), you created the report definition TUTORIAL_REPDEF_MEMORY_MGMT. Make the following changes to ensure that future reports based on this definition use the schemata that you have just created:

       9.      You are on the Central Performance History screen. In the Reporting group box, choose Define Reports.

   10.      In the Name field, use the selection help to choose the definition TUTORIAL_REPDEF_MEMORY_MGMT, and switch to change mode, by choosing Display « Change (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text).

   11.      Choose Edit ® Advanced Settings On/Off.

   12.      In the Day Schema field, use the selection help to choose the schema TUTORIAL_0800_1800, and in the Calendar Schema field, use the selection help to choose the schema TUTORIAL_MO_FR_NO_HOLIDAY.

   13.      Save your changes.

Result

By creating day and calendar schemata, you have defined time periods that are not to be used for reports based on the changed definition. However, the performance values of the MTE classes are still collected for all time periods, as previously, and you can view this data until it is reorganized in the CPH.
