You can use the Original Batches in Production function to edit original batches with reference to manufacturing orders and process orders.
On the initial screen of this function, you can specify which original batches you want to display. For example, you can enter default values such as selection criteria, the document number of the production order, a plant, or the batch number of the original batch.
The desired original batches are displayed in an overview tree in the left-hand screen area. If you select an original batch from the overview tree, the system displays the batch master record for the original batch in the right-hand screen area.
In this function, you can
Choose Create New OB.
The system creates the original batch and displays it in the overview tree.
You can also create original batches for production orders directly from the applications Change Manufacturing Order or Change Process Order. Choose Goto ® Original Batch ® Create.
Select the original batch you want to edit and choose Display/Change.
Select the original batch and choose Delete OB Assignment.
The original batch is not deleted. You can now assign the original batch to another production order.
Proceed as follows to delete an original batch:
The system deletes the original batch during the next archiving run.
Select the original batch and choose Batch Where-Used List.
Select the document number of the production order and choose Display Details.
Select the material and choose Display Details.
Choose Assign Imparting Original Batch and enter the document number of the production order.
The system checks the components in the production order for original batches, and proposes any original batches it finds to you for selection. If original batches already exist for components in your production order, then you can assign one of these original batches to the production order.
A manufacturing order effects that a bolt of cloth is dyed blue.
The cloth that was dyed has been produced in-house by your company. To store the attributes of this cloth (90% viscose, 10% cotton), an original batch exists for the corresponding manufacturing order (UC_STOFF_01). The blue textile dye was procured externally; an original batch exists for the relevant PO item (UC_FARBE_01).
Because you are interested in the processed threads of the blue cloth, you want to assign the original batch of the undyed cloth (UC_STOFF_01) to your manufacturing order for dying the cloth.
If you select Assign Imparting Original Batch and enter the manufacturing order for dying the cloth, the system checks the components of this manufacturing order (cloth and cloth dye) for original batches. The system displays both original batches found for you to select. When you select the original batch for the undyed cloth (UC_STOFF_01), you assign this original batch to the manufacturing order.
You can use the Business Add-In (BAdI) VBOB_INHERIT to influence which original batches the system displays for selection.
