Function documentation Vendor Master in SAP Retail Store Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

This function enables you to display vendor master data, enter data for local vendors and park master data for new local vendors.

Internet Application Component (IAC) type

Intranet component

Features

This function is similar to vendor master maintenance in SAP Retail but with a few minor differences. From the complete vendor master, you can only display and change the data that is relevant for your store. By defining a layout in Customizing for SAP Retail Store, it is possible to adjust the layout of the maintenance interface to suit your particular requirements. You can park master data records for new vendors but you cannot create them directly. This enables headquarters to check the data records. Employees at headquarters have to complete and release the parked vendor data before it can be used productively. Stores can also obtain authorization to process local vendors.

·        When defining a layout for the maintenance dialog, define tab pages, the assignment of master data fields to the tab pages, and the maintenance properties of the fields. You can decide whether fields are for display, ready for input, or mandatory.

Note

During definition, SAP Retail Store differentiates between the program tasks Change and Park. In display mode, the function uses the layout of the program task Change but only displays the fields. The reason for separating the program tasks is that not all data that is to be displayed can be parked by the store. This data is completed at headquarters during subsequent processing.

·        When displaying and changing vendor data, you can search for the vendor you require using different criteria. If several vendors match the criteria you have specified, you can select the vendor from a list of results.

·        You can change vendor data for local vendors only. Maintenance authorization is determined in the vendor master in Additional Data Retail.

·        You can park vendors in the store using SAP Retail Store. The system creates a simplified vendor master in a separate account group and sets a purchasing block initially for the new vendor. An employee at headquarters can release the vendor by transferring an account group for the store. The store still retains authorization to change this vendor, however.

Note

Before you can park a vendor, you must first check, using suitable selection criteria, whether it already exists in the system.

Note

When you park a vendor, you are generally also given authorization to edit it using the Local Vendor relationship.
