Structure linkAdminister Output Requests

Every user can manage his or her own spool and output requests in the Output Controller. You can view, check, output, and delete requests.

Output Controller (transaction SP01), or in the system by choosing the menu path System ® Services ® Output Control.

This transaction is useful for end users and administrators. You require administrator authorization to access other users’ requests.

Structure linkAssigning Authorizations

.

There are authorizations for the Output Controller, for the output devices, and for the system in the SAP system.

User Maintenance (transaction SU01)

Structure linkDefining Output Devices in the SAP System

.

You must create a device definition in the SAP System for every output device on which you want to print a document, so that the SAP System recognizes this device.

Spool Administration (transaction SPAD).

Unlike the Output Controller (transaction SP01), in which both users and administrators can work, Spool Administration (transaction SPAD) is intended for administrators.

Structure linkAnalyzing Printing Problems

If you have problems with printing from the SAP system, you can find possible solutions under this link. These include the Structure linkCCMS Monitor for the Spool Systems.

Transactions SP01, SPAD; and the CCMS alert monitoring transaction RZ20.

Structure linkMaintaining the Spool Database

There are a number of jobs that run regularly in a production SAP system to maintain the spool database.
