Process documentation Creating a Promotion Price Plan Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

In the Price Planning Workbench (PPW), you can plan price reductions as part of promotion management. When you save a promotion price plan the system automatically generates a promotion. Promotion planning in the PPW contains additional functions, such as the Budget Monitor and stock determination.

For promotions that were generated from a promotion price plan, you have to perform price processing using the PPW. However, you perform subsequent processing of promotions, such as creating and sending announcements, in the Retail Promotion component.

Process Flow

       1.      In the list field in the worklist in the PPW, you enter Promotions as the price planning category.

       2.      You select the articles you want and transfer them to the worklist.

For more information, see Worklist under “Selecting Markdown Proposals and Articles for the Worklist”.

       3.      You create a new price plan.

       4.      In the header data of the price plan you enter a description, validity period and other control data on the General Header Data tab page.

Note

The system proposes the following day’s date as the validity start date.

       5.      You define the promotion name and settings for the sales periods and subsequent promotion processing on the Promotion Header Data tab page.

       6.      If you want to use site groups, you define these on the Promotion Site Groups tab page.

For more information, see Defining Site Groups.

       7.      You define an organization set with the required organizational levels on the Organization Sets tab page.

For more information, see Organization Set.

       8.      You transfer the articles that you want from the worklist to the price plan.

       9.      Based on your settings in the PPW, the system performs price planning in which it calculates, most importantly, a default value for the sales price.

   10.      You process the article items in the work area.

For more information, see Processing a Promotion Price Plan.

   11.      You save the price plan.

The system generates a promotion in the background.

Note

The following rules apply to the subsequent processing options for the promotion:

You use the PPW to edit price-related data. Price activation, in particular, is performed during subsequent processing of price plans in the PPW. You cannot make price changes or activate prices using the Retail Promotion component. You can, however, change data for other subsequent processes, such as announcements or allocation, in promotion processing. You perform subsequent processing for these functions in the Retail Promotion component.

Result

You have created a promotion price plan. The price plan has the status In Process.

You can perform subsequent processing for the price plan.

For more information, see Subsequent Processing of Price Plans.
