Function documentation Deleting Consumption Data from SAP ECC Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You can use this function to delete consumption data that is no longer required in SAP ECC.

You use this function in the role of system administrator.

Integration

·         In SAP F&R, the Transfer Consumption Data from SAP BI to SAP F&R function enables you to perform initial transfers of consumption data for stores and distribution centers.

·         You can use either PIPE or SAP ECC to perform delta transfers of consumption data to the stores in SAP F&R.

·         You can use this function to delete consumption data in SAP ECC that is no longer required. This prevents you from saving the same information (consumption data) in both systems (SAP BI and SAP ECC).

This program is not used to archive the deleted consumption data.

Prerequisites

·         Your ECC system is defined as SAP Retail.

·         You have processed Customizing in SAP ECC.

Features

You can use this function to delete consumption data in SAP ECC that is no longer required.

When it does this, the system considers Customizing settings.

When deleting consumption data, the system proceeds as follows:

·        If you do not specify any selection criteria, consumption data is deleted for all the article/site combinations in the system.

When you specify a site category and selection values for sites, the intersection is formed from the sites with this site category and the specified selection values for sites (individual values, area from/to, no restriction).

·        If the consumption time precedes the time frame defined in Customizing, the consumption data (in the table for article consumption (MVER)) is deleted.

Along with the consumption time, the time frame defined in Customizing is the only criterion used to determine whether the consumption data (for an article/site combination) is still required.

The check uses the date on which the program is started.

·        The deletion of consumption data can depend on the periodicity (day, week, month) of the consumption data in the article consumption table.

Example

The consumption data is stored on a weekly basis, the retention period defined is 28 days. For example, you start the program on 11.17.04.

The last day of CW 43 is Sunday 10.24.04, which occurs only 24 days before.

Consumption data from the weeks before this, up to and including week 42, is deleted. Data from CW 43 (Monday to Sunday) is retained.

·        The replenishment type

You can define consumption data deletion to be dependent on the replenishment relevance within a system.

The check is performed using the replenishment type parameter in the article master data and the table SAP F&R-Relevant Replenishment Types (table FRE_DB_FRE_DISMM).

Error handling

If errors occur during the program run, messages are updated in the application log (object WRF_CONS). You can view this object at any time.

After an error occurs, the program attempts to continue processing. For example, the program can proceed with the settings from another article/site combination (for example, from another site category).

Activities

You can start the Deletion of Consumption Data program manually, or schedule it in the background.

Enter the articles and sites for which consumption data should be deleted. You can also use the site category to select sites (for example, selection criteria, site category as individual value). Additional restrictions (for example, replenishment type) are found in Customizing.
