Creating Shops in a New Department Store 

Use

You use this function to create a new department store with assigned shops in the site master data.

Integration

You use standard processing for site master data to enter all the master data relating to the department store.

You can also create shops using standard processing for site master data and then assign them to the department store. However, if you want to create more than one shop in a department store, or if you want to create a shop for several department stores, you use the Create Shop function. The Create Shop function allows you to structure reference data on a customer-specific basis. Standard processing for site data only supports a simplified procedure for creating reference data (either department store or shop reference).

Features

You use the Create Department Store function to create new department stores by taking a store from the Department Store category.

If you have created the department store and the master data for it, you can use the Create Shop function to add shops to an existing department store. You have the option of using a reference shop to reduce the amount of data you have to enter manually. If you do not enter a reference shop, the system bases the data for the new shop on the department store data.

Before the definition of the new shop is complete, you must enter a description for the new shop. Depending on your Customizing settings, the system can also create customer-specific shop names.

You also have the option to create the assignment for a category. The category is a special node in the article hierarchy that is flagged as a category. If you have activated the option in Customizing to make multiple assignments of articles within an article hierarchy, you must enter a category here.

A further option is to enter a unique shop number. If you do not enter a shop number, the system determines the shop number internally from a defined number range interval.

Activities

If you want to use a department store with assigned shops you must create the following master data objects in the correct sequence.

       1.      Create a store of the Department Store type to group the required shops in organizational terms.

On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Logistics ® Retailing ® Master Data ® Site Data ® Department Store/Shop ® Create Department Store.

       2.      For each shop, create a store of the Shop type, to split the merchandise assortment into independently operating business units.

On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Logistics ® Retailing ® Master Data ® Site Data ® Department Store/Shop ® Create Shop.
