References for Articles Without
History 
Use
To carry out replenishment planning for articles without history in SAP Forecasting and Replenishment (SAP F&R), you can assign one or more reference articles (reference module) to a combination of article and site, and use their historical data for replenishment planning in SAP F&R.
You use this function in the role of replenishment planner and system administrator.
Integration
· An article in SAP ECC corresponds to the location product in SAP F&R.
· You can assign a reference determination schema in the article master.
· In the general settings, you can release a reference module for use. By using reference modules repeatedly, you can reduce the system load and improve performance.
· Only use the site category Store with the attribute Store or Shop.
You cannot assign a reference assignment to the site category Store with the attribute Department Store. You cannot use the site category Store with the attribute Department Store in a reference module either.
Prerequisites
The following prerequisites have been met:
· You use SAP ECC as your master system.
· You want to perform replenishment planning for the article in SAP F&R.
· You are listing the article for the first time in a store or in a distribution center. No historical data exists for the article.
· You can only use this function for single articles, variants of generic articles, and header articles of structured articles. The structured articles must not be split into their components.
In Customizing, you can configure whether structured articles are to be broken down into their individual components during the logistics process. You can only assign references to a header article of a structured article or use the header article in a reference, provided the structured article has not been broken down.
You have processed the reference determination schema and made the general settings in Customizing. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) under:

You have activated the change pointers for the message types WRF_REF_AUTO and WRF_REF_SEND in Customizing.

Features
If you want to perform replenishment planning in SAP F&R for a new article, you can use the historical data for a reference article or reference module. If you change the reference assignment, SAP ECC creates change pointers, using which you can transfer the reference assignment to SAP F&R again.
You can also edit the references following an automatic assignment.
Activities
You can use the following functions:
· Edit reference assignments or transfer them to other plants.
· Where-used list for a reference module. The where-used list contains all combinations of article and site to which the reference module is assigned.
You assign the single reference or the reference module in the master data for the article.
Use the BAdI WRF_REF_BADI and one of the following methods to execute the functions listed:
· Method DETERMINE_REFERENCES
To select the articles that you want to assign
· Method GET_SITE_LIST
To determine a list of sites
· Method CHANGE_TARGET_ASSIGNMENT
To change new reference assignments
You can choose this function to transfer the references to other sites.
To process references for articles without history, on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Logistics à Retailing à Distributed Retailing à F&R Integration à References for Articles Without History à References for Articles Without History.
