Function documentation Sales Prices in SAP Retail Store Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Using this function, store associates can perform the following actions on an EAN or article number:

·        Display price

The system displays an overview of the current sales prices for the specified article in the unit of measure in which the article is managed.

If the user has authorization to change sales prices, they can branch directly to the Change Price function or display the price history. The price history contains the prices of the article for fixed periods of time in the past and in the future. If the user requests the price history but is not authorized to change the sales prices, the system only shows the price history for the fixed time period in the past.

·        Change price

The system displays an overview of current sales prices. The sales prices can also be changed into new, store-specific and time-dependent sales prices. The maximum validity period can be set.

If you change a price for the current date, the ERP system prepares outbound IDocs as soon as the change has been made and sends this to the POS system for the store concerned.

You can also request the price history with prices from the past and the future. If an article has a promotional price, you can change the sales price for the current date and specify a validity period. Note that the sales price for the current day (ruling price) takes precedence over the promotional price, but that the sales price as of the following day (normal price) does not take precedence and is only valid again once the promotion is over. You can determine whether you want to allow the maintenance of sales prices at all during a promotion.

If the user is only authorized to display prices, the system only offers the Display Price function and not the Change Price function.

Special article types (generic articles, variants, sales sets, components, full products and empties) are supported.

Prerequisites

This function requires Customizing for pricing.

It also uses a specific Customizing for the Sales Prices application in SAP Retail Store. Here, you can define the time periods for the price history, the maximum validity period for new prices and the condition type for the ruling prices. If no condition type is specified, you cannot maintain ruling prices in SAP Retail Store. You can also determine the type of certain system messages in this special Customizing. Possible message types are no error, warning and error.

Users of the Price Change function can, in principle, be all store associates that need to know about the current sales prices, for example, to be able to provide customers with information.

Authorization/security

Authorizations can be issued at site level using the authorization objects W_VKPR_WRK, V_KONH_VKO, V_KONH_VKS and W_SRS_VKPF. For the normal sales price, the activities Display Sales Price and Change Sales Price are checked and for the ruling price, the functions Create, Change, Display and Delete are checked. This results in the following possibilities:

·        An employee does not have either of the two authorizations. They cannot use the Sales Prices application in the Retail Store.

·        An employee is authorized to display sales prices. They can only display the sales prices and can only see the sales prices from the past in the price history.

·        An employee is authorized to display and change sales prices. They can use the full application.

When you enter an article, the system checks objects W_VKPR_WRK and W_SRS_VKPF again with the merchandise category of the article to decide whether the user has authorization for this merchandise category.

The Change Price function should, if price changes are allowed in the store at all, only be made available to a few store associates as it involves a large amount of responsibility.

Standard settings and predefined data

In the Change Sales Price function, the validity period is shown in the following way:

·        If a condition type for ruling prices is specified in Customizing, the current day is proposed as the “Valid from” date; if not, the next day is proposed.

·        For the “Valid to” date, the date resulting from the “Valid from” date and the maximum validity period is proposed.

Example

The setting for new prices is that they are valid for three days. If an employee changes a price on the 1st July, the 2nd July is proposed as the “Valid from” date and the 4th July as the “Valid to” date.

Features

The Sales Prices dialog is connected to the SAP Retail Store by the function modules SALES_PRICE_READ, SALES_CONDITIONS_READ, SALES_CONDITIONS_POSTE and the BAPI BAPI_RPC_CALCULATE_PRICES for pricing.

The following differences from pricing in SAP Retail exist:

·        The options for creating a calculation for a new price are very limited. Only the new price and the validity period can be entered and it can only be carried out if a price already exists for the article in the unit of measure concerned. You cannot create a new price, therefore, but can only change an existing price.

·        When you change a price, a new condition is created at Site level. SAP Retail Store does not change the prices created at Distribution Chain level.

·        The authorization to change sales prices is also used here to control the display of future prices. This means that a user who does not have authorization to change prices does not receive any information about the future price development of an article.

·        Promotional prices and ruling prices are shown in different colors in this application.

·        A ruling price cannot be maintained with pricing.

Additional information is displayed depending on the article type:

·        When you enter a generic article, a list of all variants is displayed. All variants that have their own sales prices are shown as links. When you click this link, the application branches to the Price Change function for this variant.

·        When you enter a variant, the relevant generic article is shown as a hyperlink. You can also see whether the variant has its own price or whether it takes the price of the generic article.

·        When you enter a sales set, a list of all the components of this sales set is displayed. Each component is displayed here as a link.

·        When you enter a variant or a single article that is a component in a sales set, a list of all relevant sales sets is issued. The sales sets are displayed as hyperlinks.

·        If you enter a full product, the system automatically determines the deposit for this article and in addition to the price, it also displays the deposit and the price including the deposit.
